Why blog?

I have always believed in the inherent right of individuals to express their opinions, which necessary implies unobstructed access to diverse perspectives regarding particular issues. History has taught us time, and time again the potential danger of one voice overwhelming the voice of the many (and vice-versa), and cautions us to resist restricting sources of information. I think the main reason why individuals remain powerless in the internet age lies not in the incessant desire for power, status or of wealth by some; but more so, in the indifference within us, the common individual, to act and speak in the public realm.
